Sara Flores teaches personalized voice and piano lessons to children and adults. Sara holds a B.A. with Honors in Music (Vocal Performance) from Lewis & Clark College and has been teaching since 2006. Sara’s teaching approach offers students a balance of developing creativity, mastering healthy technique, understanding music theory, improving sight-reading, and exploring improvisation and composition. Let’s not forget having fun, either! Sara incorporates games to explain and reinforce relevant concepts and to keep young students engaged. Older students and adults have opportunities to select some of their own songs, choosing from classical, jazz, folk, Broadway, and popular music.

I received my Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Iowa and my Masters of Music from the University of Colorado. I have trained extensively with Barbara Lister-Sink and specialize in training my students in the Lister-Sink Injury Preventive Technique. I believe every student has a hidden potential that is waiting for release. I have helped students achieve excellence in whatever their goals may be, whether it is playing for recital, with a group, in a competition, or getting into a college music program. I also work with injured pianists to retrain them and allow them to once again fly in musical freedom. My ultimate goal is for each and every student develop a love of music that will last a lifetime.

Holly studied piano at the University of Northern Colorado under Errol Haun, graduating in 2010 with her minor in piano. She has been teaching in her home studio since graduation, in Westminster near Standley Lake and has had students from Erie, Louisville, Lafayette, Arvada, and Westminster. Her preferred method is Shaak Piano Partners, but if the student is coming from another method, she will consider continuing it. She supplements theory and exercises as necessary. Children beginning at the age of 4 years old through middle school are her priority, but has occasionally taught adults. She teaches alongside her 9-5 job, in the evenings and on weekends.
